I finished my work experience today.  I’ll be popping all my stories up on my blog but here’s one for you to read over dinner:

It can also be found here.

A father was stabbed in the eye with a pencil while walking down Canterbury High Street.

The 38-year-old was looking for a taxi with his son after a Christmas Eve night out when they came across a group of three or four men and women.

Investigating officer PC Matthew Smith said: “An argument between the two groups broke out, during which a man struck the victim in his left eye with a pencil.
“Although the pencil punctured his eyelid it missed his actual eye and fortunately his sight has not been affected.”

The brawl took place in the High Street between Palace Street and Stour Street between 00.45am and 1am on Christmas Day.

Anyone with information contact Kent Police on 101 or Kent Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111 quoting crime number ZY/4050/11.

A 27-year-old man from Erith has been arrested on suspicion of assault and is on bail until February 6 while enquiries continue.
